ASSUMPTION



Officials from the City of Kansas City, Department of Insurance, City of Springfield, County Employees' Retirement System, City of Jefferson City, Missouri Consolidated Health Care Plan and Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System assume proposal will have no fiscal impact on their organizations.



Officials from the Office of Administration - Division of Accounting state the proposal will have no impact on the state. However, political subdivisions may provide health insurance benefits for dependents or retired or deceased officers.

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business



No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.



DESCRIPTION



This proposal allows political subdivisions to provide health insurance benefits to retired officers and their dependents and the dependents of deceased officers of the political subdivisions. Currently, these benefits are only offered to employees and their dependents.



This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
