FISCAL ANALYSIS



ASSUMPTION



Officials of the Office of State Court Administrator assume there would be no fiscal impact on the Courts.



Officials of the Kansas City Manager's Office assume this proposal would generate approximately $350,000 annually. Officials stated that these monies would be used to offset most of the costs of a records management system. Officials assume that would improve the administration of justice in Kansas City.

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business



No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.



DESCRIPTION



This bill allows Kansas City to provide for additional court costs up to $5 per case for municipal ordinance violations to be used for the procurement, installation, maintenance, consulting services, and upkeep of a court information and records management system.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
