FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTIONS

Officials from the Office of the Governor, the Missouri House of Representatives and the Missouri Senate assume this proposal would have no impact on their organizations.

Officials from the Office of the Secretary of State assume this proposal would designates a new state symbol. This may result in revisions to the School/Information Packet (state symbols brochure and coloring book) and the Official Manual (state symbols section) as published by the Secretary of State. The estimated cost to revise the School Information Packet packet (approximately) would be $0.02 per packet. The estimated cost to revise the Official Manual ( every other year) to include a photo of the symbol would be $0.03 per book. The Office of the Secretary of State estimated costs of $2,060 in FY 2005 and $2,122 in FY 2006 for the 100,000 school information packets distributed each fiscal year, and $1,273 in FY 2006 for the 40,000 copies of the Official Manual distributed every other year.

ASSUMPTIONS (continued)

Oversight assumes the Office of the Secretary of State could absorb any additional costs resulting from this proposal with existing resources. If this proposal results in unexpected additional costs, or if multiple proposals requiring additional costs are passed, those costs could be addressed through the state budget process.
