FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTION

Officials from the Department of Health and Senior Services and the Department of Insurance, Finance, and Professional Regulation state this proposal will have no fiscal impact on their respective agencies.

Officials from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DES) state their agency does not have data on the salaries paid to nurses; therefore, the fiscal impact cannot be estimated.

Officials from the Francis Howell School District estimate the fiscal impact of this proposed legislation to be $62,500 per year.

Officials from the Marshfield R-1 School District assume a cost of $5,687 per year.

In response to similar proposed legislation from last session (HB 727 - FN 0068-01N), officials from the following school districts provided an estimate of fiscal impact:

            Independence                        $200,000

            Parkway                                $200,000

            Poplar Bluff                          $ 14,500

Oversight cannot estimate the total impact to school districts; however, assumes the cost would

exceed $100,000 annually.

Officials from the following school districts did not respond to a request for fiscal note: Columbia; Jefferson City; Kirksville; Macon; St Joseph; Sikeston; Fair Grove.
