FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTION

Officials from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education state this proposal will have no fiscal impact on their agency or on local school districts.

Officials from the Francis Howell School District indicated they could be required to schedule Veteran's Day as a holiday because their district provides a release day for teachers to attend the state teacher's conference which occurs in November and could fall within the five days after Veteran's Day. Their district also schedules election day, especially for presidential elections, as a day off for students due to safety issues; therefore, might have to schedule Veteran's Day as a holiday in those instances.
