FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTION

Officials from the Department of Health and Senior Services, Office of the Attorney General and the Department of Social Services each assume the proposal would have no fiscal impact on their respective agencies.

Officials from the Office of the State Courts Administrator (CTS) assume the proposal would lower the amount of “maintenance of effort funding” counties must provide to support juvenile offices. Juvenile programs and services could be negatively impacted.

Oversight assumes, because the potential for a loss of maintenance of effort funding is speculative, that the CTS will not incur significant costs related to this proposal. If a fiscal impact were to result, the CTS may request additional funding through the appropriations process.
