FISCAL ANALYSIS
ASSUMPTION
Officials from the Department of Transportation (MoDOT) state this proposal exempts taxes levied by any home rule city with more than 400,000 inhabitants and located in more than one county for transportation purposes pursuant to section 94.577 and sections 94.600 to 94.655, RSMo, from being included as funding for redevelopment plans or projects. This will allow these funds to be used for their intended purpose, which is to construct new transportation systems and to maintain current ones. MoDOT assumes no fiscal impact from this proposal.
Officials from the City of Kansas City, Jackson County Sports Authority, Jackson County and the Kansas City School District did not respond to our request for fiscal impact.
